Planet Certifies Three Key Partners in New Planet Orbit Certification Program
Planet is excited to share that we have certified three partners through the new Planet Orbit Certification Program. The program will officially launch and be open to qualified partners in Spring 2023. The companies that have completed our certified program offer robust applications and services that are ready to scale globally. From helping customers get up to speed on Planet’s APIs to deploying high-performing solutions based on Planet’s data, Planet Orbit Certified Partners follow best practices to support customers’ unique use cases.
We’ve built an extensive worldwide network of partners that are committed to helping us build the tools and applications users need to derive valuable insights from our data and take action. This partner ecosystem is a critical piece of our business and mission to democratize access to space, and our new Planet Orbit Certification Program takes this work a step further.
Participants in the Planet Orbit Certification Program are vetted through a comprehensive business and technical certification that reviews existing professional services business experience, team capabilities and skill sets, technical best practices for delivering solutions, and in-depth assessments of sample projects. The program is designed to validate Planet Partners with deep technical knowledge, experience, and proven success in delivering solutions powered by Planet to customers.
Planet recently completed certification of three partners: Woolpert, SCCON Geospatial, and Sinergise. These partners have a deep understanding of Planet data and are creating innovative solutions on our platform. We are eager to see how our global community will leverage their work.
Woolpert
Woolpert is a leading provider of state-of-the-art geospatial services. The company applies a big-picture approach to some of the largest regional and continental-scale geospatial projects in North America and around the globe. Leveraging their deep bench of in-house engineers, architects and consultants, Woolpert brings a geospatial advantage to any project.
As part of the Planet Orbit Certification Program, Woolpert will be delivering Cloud Solutions for Planet customers, employing their expertise in cloud deployments and optimization to help Planet’s customers successfully transition to the cloud.
Santiago & Cintra Consultoria (SCCON) Geospatial
Brazilian company SCCON is a leading solutions provider to the geospatial industry. They are a technology-centric company that provides scalable analytical solutions using Planet’s daily images to monitor change and deliver results that help clients achieve their Sustainable Development Goals. The SCCON platform automates processes, analyses and methodologies to deliver, through an API, dynamic alerts to users in environment, agriculture, forestry, public safety, energy, supply chain monitoring, risk analysis and environmental social governance (ESG).
As part of the Planet Orbit Certification Program, SCCON will provide Planet customers with a robust solution to scale globally using its platform to better monitor tropical forests, deforestation, degradation and illegal mining.
Sinergise
Sinergise has extensive expertise in developing advanced geospatial information systems based on cloud and web technology, focusing on markets where it can create the greatest impact. Sinergise is best known for its Sentinel Hub, an award-winning satellite imagery archiving, processing and distribution service, which powers earth observation applications world-wide. Sentinel Hub processes hundreds of millions of requests every month, providing timely visualization and analysis of multiple remote sensing data products, and supports the rapid development of new earth-observation products, such as vegetation indices.
As part of the Planet Orbit Certification Program, Sinergise will continue to provide Planet customers with solutions for monitoring agricultural activities across broad geographic scales. Sinergise provides “markers” on a field-by-field basis that include detection of bare soil, dates for mowing and harvesting, land cover and crop type. In one common use case, governments and private enterprise require up-to-date information on agriculture to measure and monitor sustainability initiatives at local, regional and global scales.
The Planet Orbit Certification Program is just another step towards our goal of making Planet data accessible and actionable to our global set of users. We’re expanding this work in other areas with the recent launch of Planet University and Planet Community – two new platforms designed to give users everything they need to get started with Planet and share their ideas and projects with others. When the Planet Orbit Certification Program is formally launched in the Spring of 2023, we will leverage Planet University as a learning platform for completing technical certifications.
